Just got that game.. class.
Even better its got a great sound track. Jimmy Eat World even features on it, a track from the forthcoming album “Futures” about time this band gets the recognition its deserves. No better recognition than in a fantastic game.
Bring on next week when I go to see them in Islington next thursday night. One of a few small gigs which their playing in Europe ahead of the album, which i was lucky to snag a ticket for :)
Definately worth a buy, and the game too :)

unfortunately, Peter – the Torc lad’s appreciation for Burnout3 does NOT extend to its soundtrack!!
We hate it to a man…. with the exception of that sole Ramones track, that is…

I think I must be the only one who isn’t mad about Burnout3, its very good but I’m a huge Burnout2 fan.
This one doesn’t reward great driving skills (too much emphasis on combat) and has much less traffic.
Team Road Rage on Live! is really good but EA’s servers are shocking. Last night it ‘lost’ lots of the rankings
And if you think Gaiden is hard try it with Hurricane Pack Vol. One

well actually now i think. the ps2 had a similar game to gaiden.
a remake of the old sega class Shinobi game.the ps2 one was bloody vicious. must actually root out that game again.got it in a bargain bin somewhere.
whats the hurriane pack do for gaiden?

Shinobi was meant to be a bit poor, nice scarf though, I was a huge Revenge of Shinobi fan, and Revenge of Shinobi 2.
I’ve noticed another sega ‘ninja’ game knocking about for the PS2 that looks very similar to the Shinobi one as well.
Hurricane Pack One gives you nunchaku from the beginning, a new staff aswell, two new costumes and essentially moves all the enemies up one. So on the first level you never meet the easy ninjas, you get the white ones in their place and where the white ones were you get those Black Spider ones that I can’t stand. I haven’t got very far in that.
Volume 2 has been announced too. One also has a manual 3rd person camera which is good, but poorly done and new enemies by all accounts.

yeah shinobi on ps2 wasent great but has an old retro theme to it.. same music i think also.
as for the packs nice way for the developers to bleed a few extra euro outta the fans eh.. genius.

A few of us from work played a tonne of Burnout 3 whilst drinking jugs of white russians last weekend.
It deserves the 9/10. I dont usually like racers but this is really good.
I love the crash stuff – we discover so many cool things – for some levels it is not always the best plan to shoot straight off – let some traffic go ahead then get drive , get the boost later and you can get better crashes.
Must buy it eventually.

yeah been spending a bit too much time recently on that game. Its the sheer speed i think thats making me come back to it, cause you could be in last position and you dont crash for a lap and everyone else gets taken down and wham.. your in 1st..
also i like the way the cpu drivers are really aggressive. last night i got taken down by a class nudge to the back bumper and drove me right off the edge of a cliff. -

Miles off. Have you played 2? A better game in my opinion, although going back is hard with it feeling slow now, which is a shame because it really isn’t.
Crash mode in 3 is hit the 4X, in 2 it was a bit random but it worked really well.
The Single Player mode is a mess, despite the pretty maps its a pain to navigate and it seems people will prefer crashes or racing and once they finish all of one they stop.
Like I did when I finished all the races.
All in my opinion of course

i did notice that the graphics are much sharper in 1 player than 2 player which is a bit of a shame.
i guess to keep the fps up they had to do this because the ps2 is showing its age. 2 player looks really blurry off in the distance (distance beginning from a couple of units off the front of the bonnet), so you dont see cars pretty much until your right on top of them. thats my only complaint..
still a very good purchase indeed. -

My main criticism is tha tthe frontend is a nightmare to navigate – and after a crash it places you on ‘continue’ rather than ‘retry’ so you accidentally press ‘continue’ and have to spend ages going though the crappy menus to get back to where you were
But hey, at least it has Ash and the Ramones on the soundtrack.

yeah i agree, the continue thing is quite annoying, coz the load times arent the fastest

Awsome game, and yes the second installment was as good, but I don’t feel it was better.
A minor criticism of mine has to be that, on Xbox, when trying to use Custom Soundtracks you can only go forward through your albums. Why a problem? Well, with about 60 soundtracks to get through by pressing X just to get to the right one can be a pain – especially since you need to do this EVERY time as the game doesn’t remember your preferences.
Though, thankfully, when using your own soundtracks the EA ‘Trax’ HUD doesn’t appear on-screen during a race, obscuring your Burnout meter. And dont even get me started on how ‘excellent’ the Xbox Live component is…
