      question.

the conference is on nwifhe. is that in derry or strabane?
because the website says derry – strabane? is there 2 campus?

also the conference website has a list of accomodation in derry- coleraine. but there quite a distance away from strabane right?

just thinking from point of view of travel on the morning of conference.
was going to go up the day before because im in cork, so i see theres limited travel options. cork-dublin-dublin-belfast-derry by train, or cork-dublin bus from dublin-derry.

so wanted the minimum travel the following morning. anyone got better advise. possibly a native or knows that region ? would be much appreciated.

There is a branch of the NWIFHE in my home town of Strabane, nothing to do with this though. Strabane is 13 miles from derry, no great distance but this is all taking place in Derry.

Coleraine is a good bit out of the way mind, its at least an hour anyway but I guess there may be some options on the road there (Eglington Airpot for example, or I think there is a Radisson in Limavady).

So aim to base yourself in the historic city of Londonderry. Buses, trains I have no idea about, rail services in Ireland seem a bit rubbish I lived in Scotland for 4 years and the road and rail services would put them to shame.

Hey good luck with all that.

I’ll have to confirm the details, but I’m heading up from Dublin and will have room for 3 people from Dublin if people need lifts, would make it cheaper for me if I could split the cost of petrol for the trip. I’ll be leaving from city centre but have no idea of the plan yet other than I’ll be going from around the Stephen’s Green / Camden Street area, so once people know about ticket allocations, you can email me at jamiemc1 / // at // / eircom . net and first three will get preference.

      Hi folks,

the event is on at NWIFHE in Derry and not Strabane.

And the only reason there’s a hotel listed for Coleraine is that it was one of the few in the area with any kind of web presence.

You can also get fairly cheap flights to Derry & Donegal. About EUR80 I think, but that might be one way

I have a couple of questions myself.

So where have people chosen to stay? Any good (and cheap) hotels you could suggest from the site that are close by to the college so I will be able to get there easily enough?

Also, are you all planning on staying in Derry the night before? Or are some of you making the travel in the morn?

Just starting to think these things through. Thanks! :)

Ronny if your in Belfast there’s a train to Derry about every 2 hours or so from about 6 till 10 at night. Alot of people who do my course get this train home on a friday. It’s as reliable as the rest of them.
