Hyia Forumites,
Off-business and -IGDA topic, this.
I’m considering buying either a Neo Geo AES (been wanting one for years) or wait and decide between a DS and a PSP… but I just don’t know & can’t make my mind up (that’ll be Librans for you).
Let’s have your rants & raves & see if I can be influenced one way or the other.
By way of info,
_the AES is not “retro-” or “fad-” motivated, it just happens to run possibly the best versions of two of my most-played games of all times: Puzzle-Bobble 2 (with my missus) and Metal Slug [any number].
_but I like my gaming “mobile”, since I travel quite a bit all year-round and am very fond (the above 2 games excepted) of racing games.
_and I get less and less time to play anyway (job, newborn daughter, etc.), so I tend to twitch-play much more often than having an hour or so available for a good session.Over to you gals & guys.

If you’re into racing games and thinking of DS/PSP, you’re probably better off going with PSP. You’ll get Gran Turismo there anyway and no doubt games like Burnout and Need For Speed.
Although, I think I saw an interesting thing on the DS where the steering wheel was in the bottom panel and you turned it left and right with your finger in the touch screen. No idea what it’d be like though.

But yeah the ds touch sensitive pad looks good, i want to see this idea of using it to charge up sonic the hedgehog.

An AES? Aren’t you hardcore, entering into the elite realms of the gamer.
If you choose to I hope you can find one and not lose a kidney to get it.
Never got the Neo Geo way of life, sure the games were pretty but they just never appealled to me.
Its a bit like SNK vs Capcom, I always choose Capcom characters, they didn’t look as sweet but they worked well.
I don’t understand you’re choice though, sounds like you want a handheld, so why would you even consider the AES? Besides Metal Slug Advance comes out on Friday and a GBA generally should fit all your gaming needs.

AES or handheld: because I’d like either just as much, but only have cash for either-or.
In other words: I’d gladly stick to my GBP with Tetris for my portable “needs” if I get an AES (“I know what I’m getting” kind-of-thing for the AES), but I’d also gladly forget about it for another few years if I get a DS or PSP and the gaming’s as good with it as I’m anticipating it to be (“I don’t know yet what I’m getting” kind-of-thing for the DS/PSP).
M-SLug Advane: No, ta – real thing, please.
