Skillset are a gov. agency in the UK that work on behalf of the audio-visual industries.
They have careers info at http://www.skillset.org/careers
and more detailed info on careers in the games industry at http://www.skillset.org/interactive/
very useful I would think for people considering a job in this area.
they also do annual surveys of people working in the industry – there were about 9,000 in the development and publishing side of games in the UK in 2004 and only 8 % were women and less than 7% were non white. Time to change things!
