Well EA told em to go away so no surprises that it isn’t EA. Sadly for FR EA kept the IP to Time Splitters so they are stuffed on that one.

      Free Radical to Revolution?

Sources close to Nintendo have revealed to us that publishing giant Ubisoft is hard at work on a Revolution-bound first-person shooter. The title, still unnamed, will make use of the console’s unique controller for a level of aiming precision unavailable in traditional console shooters.

It is not yet known whether Ubisoft is working on the shooter internally or whether it has contracted an outside studio to create the game. As a side note, the company recently announced a partnership with Free Radical Design, the maker of TimeSplitters, to develop an action game for next-generation consoles. The announcement could be completely unrelated, but Free Radical has always been a big supporter of Nintendo and its consoles.[/quote:8fd45f80b8]

To get a deal on TS 3 (Future Perfect) they had to sign over the IP. Then when it failed to do well EA declined to do a follow-up.

      Hi all,

sorry, hadn’t noticed this till now.

Yeah, we’re signed up with Ubi for a really interesting new (multi-platform) IP, which should be announced soon. They seem like good people: open, creative, and with a good idea of what they are talking about.

In comparison, the general FR concensus of opinion with regard to EA is that they didn’t have the enthusiasm or knowhow to market TS3 effectively, and thus sales were disappointing. Most of my colleagues feel it was a really strong title and deserved to do well.

The relationship with Ubi seems really healthy, and they are visiting us regularly.

To the best of my knowledge, we are not developing anything for Nintendo, currently.

      More news soon!
