just read this on rte webpage, been around a while but what a load of cack. No way you could give that game that rating. He obviously didnt play it or the GAA threatened to take coverage rights for the all ireland for this year and give them exclusively to Setanta if they didnt receive a good review :)

I wonder what christmas sales of the game were like? I was in a couple of shops in Dublin where it was no 3 in terms of sales charts.
Aphra.

This is a full-on, in-your-face, fast-paced footballing masterclass.[/quote:4864cb9381]
HAH!
The graphics look very sharp and I found very little stalling when it was in full flow.[/quote:4864cb9381]
Double HAH!
The guy obviously hasn’t got a clue about games, let alone having the ability to properly review them.

Ya i think he’s that muppet off that show that used to be on RTE2 in the evenings hosted by the lovely Laura woods called “ID”. Not sure if its still on.
He was the nerd who used to come in weekly and review games and say everyone of them was fantastic. Bit of a poindexter I reckon. Twas funny though when he used to be trying to flirt with Laura and she was having none of it. In fact one day she thought they went to commerical and they hadnt and she got caught saying her mind to him. Twas frickin hilarious. Not the last time she got caught thinking the camera was off and let slip something.

It was 8th on the Christmas all format chart – that’s after seven weeks on the charts and it was down from 5th the week before, 4th the week before, and 6th the week before that.

I wouldn’t put much stock in the charts you see in the shops. I remember many Friday mornin, doing up the charts according to the print out and sure enough congratulations to the new release that had just been released that very hour we opened and made it to number one. Complete in-house marketting tool unfortunately…

I’m talking about Chart-Track’s “TOP 20 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE”, “ENDING 24TH DECEMBER” – this is a weekly chart complied with data from all/most retailers, not just one.
Edit: I’ve had a look back and from the week ending Nov 12, it spent two weeks at no 1, then one @ no2, one @ 6, one @ 4, one @ 5, Chisrtmas @ 8, and ended the year no where to be seen.

one real disappointment was the lack of real players[/quote:587439368d]
WTF
Jesus Christ, that’s a pile of crap. No Real Players?
Oh yeah, I think Steve Curran is the guy who presents it now. Can’t be sure. IDs still on, and its still boring.

Yep, they didnt get the backing of the GPA so no real names. While on the subject of the GAA game, I was down in a friends house over the Christmas and at one point in the night the adults, all of whom are heavily involved in the GAA at both local and county level, decided they wanted a wee chat… I was subsequently grilled for about 20mins about why “that GAA game for the Playstation is so shit” (or course being the only computer student they knew obviously meant I was supposed to know the answer to this) and was told about how no one in the GAA they knew were happy with it.
Now while the game has been critically panned its the first time I’ve heard complaints from people in the GAA which begs the question, despite the games decent sales, will there be another one? How long did Sony get the GAA licence for anyway?
