Aphra/Tony,
Good to hear that things are moving forward, and thanks for the review of the year.
Just a question though in relation to the IGDA Chapter, Tony mentioned that there would be some changes involved, what is the policy for nominations etc?

Then hopefully those who want to be on the committee will join up. :wink:I too think that the article was very interesting and positive. 2005 wasn’t the most eventful year, but Aphra and Tony did a great job and making it seem that way! I’m looking forward to seeing what’s to come over the next twelve months.

thanks guys,
amazing when you look back to find things were ticking along and getting done during the year but maybe with somewhat less publicity. It is good to gather them together and reflect at some point during the year. If we missed anything major let me know.
this year we will have the third gd.ie birthday event and another awakenings to look forward to as well as the Dare competition and the launch of the new digital media research centre. Hopefully we will be able to highlight company news too as it happens so please do keep sending in press releases and snippets to us.
Aphra.

John-Patrick Molloy = me, um I assume then that that list isn’t only full members, or did I win an upgrade in a raffle?

There are certainly more Irish members, even if they are only students, there’s one or 2 in my class

According to the IGDA website, there are 25 full members and 440 free users!

Please tell me that isn’t the full list that Ivan posted, cos if it is, it means that the majority of the committee aren’t full members!

I’m confused.
Go to http://www.igda.org/ > Click on ‘members’ > Click ‘Re-sort by chapter’ > Choose ‘Ireland’ and you get the list I posted….
If you go to http://www.igda.org/community/member_demos.php?q=mc
It lists Ireland with 25…How do I get to the full list??

no idea…I just did that too..
we must also fix the fact that the link to the IGDA Ireland chapter website brings you here to gd.ie but as yet we haven’t put up the IGDA Ireland chapter pages…always more to do.
Aphra.

The small list is only those who have created a public profile.
So it appears we do have 25 fulltime members atm, so thats a fairly good pool.

and a little more here:
http://www.gamedevelopers.ie/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1858Feel free to add to the discussion though – in fact, please do! The more ideas/input the better
I’m hoping to have the first organising committee meeting of 2006 in early to mid Feb and this (and related topics) are high on the agenda. Regardless of the outcome, I promise we’ll endeavour to do better reporting on and promoting our activities than we did last year!
