I was thinking that a Game Convention in ireland might be cool, like this one
      http://www.midwestgamingclassic.com/content.php?id=index

(maybe i’m thick there is one, is there?)

Nothing as offical as awakenings, more of a hobbyist thing ( but if some of the big guns got involved, that would be great). The reason I would be interest, because over in the US of A they have Dream On’s, dreamcast convestion within the bigger conventions (yes, here Ii go again about the dreamcast), and it would be cool to host the first one outside of the US.

I would also would be interested in setting up tables for other console homebrews (psp, ds, xbox etc). There are a few irish homebrew coders I would hope I can convince to come along too.

i’m just throwing the idea out there, to see what the responce is…

Is there a market for it as something that isn’t simply some companies promotional event? Also, there are at least 10-15 (tabletop/roleplaying) conventions in Ireland every year, and at least that many byopc LANs.

well thats what i want to find out the midwest classic has been running for years, and has been very successfull, getting bigger every year. There are loads of similar conventions all over america.

But yeah, this in not america, maybe its too small a market, but since there are 10-15 (tabletop/roleplaying) conventions, could there not be 1 for just games?

The people who run table gaming conventions do because they want to run table gaming conventions, its not really about breaking it down.
