Probably not the smartest subject line ever when you are looking for a new job. What did you get sacked for?

That’s really too bad, Brendan. Try to look at the positive and remind yourself of everything you’ve learnt while in the job. Hopefully now you’ll be able to go on to a better challenge. If you don’t mind me asking, were you let go for any particular reason or because of redundancies? Perhaps you weren’t enjoying the job enough to perform well at it and moving on could do you a lot of good.

Good luck and let us know how it goes. :)

      I know it sounds terrible,

I felt that my director couldn’t read me, I know I didn’t really understand him when he expalned himeself, I asked other members of staff to try and make sure I was doing what had to be done, he works part time and is rarley avaible to talk to, I count 5 times in the last 3 months, Im new to the industry and I was left in the deep end, The remodeled my character halfway through my 3 months and it had to be totally redone again, Im not technical animator, I was left to create all the rigs, I felt a bit abandon to be honest, overall my work suffered, but I did get some good shots out of it for my reel, hopefully one door closes another will open, it was a bit of a shock to be honest.

      Hi Brendan,

I hope you’re adjusting to life after the company. It really looks as if you’re better off without them. I’m sure you must have been going home absolutely frustrated every night. At the end of the day you’ve clearly learnt many lessons that will serve you in the future. On top of that you’ve got an improved demo reel and more experience on your CV!

Be glad that you managed to get out of there and focus on what’s next. How are you feeling about the whole thing now? Hope you’re recovering from that obvious shock.

im grand now, I could have seen myself there for a good few years, so it was a bit of a shock,

But as you say, I was going home at night very frustrated, at the time I just accepeted it, It would also take me between 1 and half hrs to 2 hrs to get there in the morning and to get home at night (bus, tram, train), on top of a 9 hr shift I was pretty destroyed everyday, so im releived that thats over.

i will have a new reel up soon. i’l keep knocking on the doors untill one opens.

      Hi there,

If you say where where you are currently based, someone might be able to recommend a few company names ( ie Berlin or Belfast :) )

      Hi Northy,

Drop me a line ( mal at candointeractive.com ) – we’re doing a bit of work with a company in Machester, and they might be looking for additional onsite 3D help for next year ( using Shockwave 3D ) – it might be worth a go.
