I read this in the newspaper earlier…
Rather than a truely inspired St Patricks Day hurley game, where after a drinking spree you have to see how far you can hurl your diced carrots, these guys seem to be making a game based around the stick and ball ( rather than sick and brawl ) native passtime.
The best of luck to them – it’s great to see Irish developed games popping up already!

Just because it pre-dates the Olympic games does not mean you can say that it was the inspiration for them. The Chinese had sporting events as far back as 4000 BC so by the site’s logic the Tailteann Games were inspired by the Chinese?

I’d love to know where they got their sources for this. Good luck to them with the game. Can’t pretend it’s something I or anyone I know would bother buying. Is anyone here actually interested in parting with their hard earned cash?Nice idea, but they should probably focus on something a little more mainstream. I never like to stifle creativity, but this is way too niche. Do they plan to have this game published or released over the Internet?

Hatebreed were meant to be playing over here with Unearth (who were the ones I wanted to see) but no Irish date was ever set. :( Luckily for me I still have Killswitch Engage tomorrow night. \o/
As for the inspiration part, yes I severely doubt they had much influence but thats besides the point. It’s great to see another Irish developed game, regardless of my personal feelings on the genre, but yes, best of luck to them. :)

Dunno but from the site it seems more like a hobbyist group. I’ve used the exact same internet site before which they used to generate the banner head “Tailteann Games” for they’re flash animation.
Also doesnt seem to have any affiliations with the GAA, how can they use the real player names etc? Surely licensing is required. Also no screen shots and the title is launching in 07??
