My download at home should be finished by the time I get off work so I’ll be testing it out then. Should be interesting to see how it runs on my now more modest rig.

Trivia time:
-BioShock PC launch short-circuits.
Aug 23.
2K servers go down, preventing PC players from completing installation process for single-player, offline game.P.S. Can’t wait to get my hands on this game (360) tomorrow.

So thats what’s happening.. Just after getting the PC version today and it refuses to install, keeps coming up ‘Unable to connect to server’ . I’m really quite annoyed about it, I haven’t been this annoyed about buying a game since Half Life 2 when I had to endure a 5 hour download (on dialup) just to get it working. Whatever happened to the good old days of just installing a game and playing it eh ? :?

Ruined by the pirates who are happy to download anything and everything without giving a second thought to the people who have spent the last 4 years of their life working on something. As for the Bioshock activation problems, just like with Steam I advise you to just grind your teeth and wait till the kinks are ironed out. The whole digital distribution/activation thing is still in its infancy so teething problems are to be expected but overall its clearly going to be the future for the industry so perhaps it’s worth it. :)

[/quote:0d589d81e1]Indeed, pirates have driven publishers and developers towards this. The sad thing about it all though is that for all the new fancy activation and piracy protection mechanisms they still manage to find ways around it. In the end it’s just the paying customers are being punished, not the pirates.
Bring back the old copy protection wheels I say…

True, it is the way things are going. I’ve no problem either going online and activating something so long as it actually works and I don’t have to endure any lenghty downloads that could have been placed on the DVD in the first place. Guess I’ll just have to try again tomorow so. And if that doesn’t work the next day, and the day after that…

Yeah, this activation craic, eh? I installed the full version on my laptop, before installing it on my main PC before even thinking "aw fuck didn’t I already activate it once" but apparently you can have 5 legit installs (originally it was 2) and theres some talk about an uninstaller that frees up your licenses if you remove the game.

When the game was originally released it would only let you install it twice on two different computers but that has been changed to 2 to 5 simulatenous installs and 3 to 5 reinstalls. Of course uninstalling it means your counter is put back to normal so technically it’s not an issue at all.
