      Hey folks,
Here is a vid of a more significant project from the Trinity masters (IET).
      We recreated Bomberman Live.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcMdFzQzZws

Bomberman Live won best live game at GDC so was a good game to try and emulate. I was playing against myself with two controllers in the video so thats why most of the time the bombermen are not moving together.

      More details:
Group of 6 using XP process. Took us a month as we had other course work on at the time. Client Server system using XNA 2.0 deployed to Xbox and PC.

Bigger project comming up in a few weeks where groups of 3 will have 6 weeks to work on somthing so that should good.

Cheers Peter. We all had to program with no code ownership but I did the graphics on my own. Used blender and Photoshop.

Silvu did the sound (Well took the music but got them working in XNA).
Were pretty happy with it. The other group made a 3D Tron lightcycle game (I will ask if they are going to shove up a video too).

      Nice, looks very impressive.

Good to see some quality games being developed using skills acquired on the trinity course.

Nice work – do you have to take the game projects to a stage where you release them into the wild, for the internet ( even if it’s just for mates to download and try out )?

This would be a good requirement to have, as packaging a game project up for public release, ensuring that it’s stable etc, can be trickier than most people expect, even on a relatively small scale project.

I agree. Steve has set a goal for the next project (6 weeks one) to be accepted onto xbox live creators club. With the pier review system I think that will be a good test. Could make the PC version available too.

      The art of negotiation ;)
Ah well we won’t worry about hudsonsoft, how about a pint at the next shindig if I make it. If not try extort the other team for a sweeter deal. I would imagine Disney would hunt down the other IET team if they ever made a cent from their Tron game and probably would be in hot water even if it was freeware.

Well if those guys who did a tron rip off are at xna ireland next week, make sure not to show to Disney there. :)
