There has been a lot of negative stuff about this since it was anounced. But I am sort of intrested in getting to try it out.

Where?
I know there was some comments here about the early screenshots they put on the website not meeting some peoples level of expectation but in all honesty anyone who judges a game based on only a few images is very naive if you ask me.
I mean if this was a consumer focused site that could be expected but we are meant to be game developers here, right?

I think you’ll find the negativity wasn’t about the game, it was about releasing low quality images.
Any publicity about games should be high quality, otherwise those image can crop up at a later point in marketing and hurt you. You have to be VERY careful when releasing screenies. -

They might have been referring to the Dreadnought Demo by Torc Interactive.

That was quite impressive. I can’t say the graphics blew me away but i think it was getting confused with some vista stuff. Did darkwater develop this or did some of the founding members just work on it because I would think they would put something like this on there site.

Last i heard ps3 and 360 were canned.

You most likely know more than me. I have heard next to nothing about the studio really since they opened.

Surely Xbox live is the way to go?

You would think so.
The PC market is in a bad shape. But free, add supported stuff on PC does look like a good way to go.

I started downloading Air Rivals, but then cancelled – its a 1.4 Gig download!!! Not exactly what you would call a quick start.
If it was under 200 Mb, I might have went for it, but that is HUGE – how can this type of game require that many assets?
They should have focused on having a small client download, and even streaming in the assets for a particular zone afterwards.
Hopefully QuakeLive has a smaller client download! It would be cool to have a gd.ie QuakeLive clan, are there any initial takers ( it’s still in beta, but there are bound to be plenty of fraggers out there from the offline version ).

Yeah looked at air rivals too but couldn’t see size so didn’t bother. Having seen 1.4G would not have even gone to site.

Quake Live is a big download also, close to a gig as far as I remember

Don’t think this will even need a download when it starts.

I’ve been looking forward to Battle field heroes release, it looks interesting all right. I’m curious to see if this strategy of gaming business works…

It reminds me of Sky Odyssey. Aah. Such a terrible game, but so many great memories.
The new screenshots are definitely a step-up.
