Well, even though the article is called Bejeweled Creator Spills Secrets of Addictive Games, there isn’t really that much spilled.

      http://www.wired.com/gaming/gamingreviews/magazine/16-11/pl_games

Kapalka talks (ever-so briefly) about bringing order from chaos, with the rubiks cube, and tetris, and the mindless tactile pleasure of popping bubble-wrap, but that’s about it.

I saw a BBC/Channel 4 documentary, "Tetris: From Russia With Love" http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/documentaries/features/tetris.shtml, (doesn’t appear to be on Amazon), in which Pajitnov talks about the very low-level "firmware" in humans, and their need to express constructivity, and he goes into far more detail than Kapalka, but I guess they are talking about the same thing.

Anyway, I thought this article (as brief as it is), may be of interest to the locals.

      B.
