      Guys

FYI. The School of Computing is pleased to offer up to 150 free college places to job seekers as part of the Labour Market Activtation program funded by the Department of Education and Skills. The school will offer the following courses to qualified applicatants:

CPD Diploma in Geographical Information Systems & Technology
CPD Diploma in Accessible Web Design
      CPD Diploma in Green IT
CPD Diploma in Computer Game Prototyping and Ludology
CPD Certificate in iPhone Applications Programming

Of particular interest here is the CPD Diploma in Computer Game Prototyping and Ludology.

The plan is to offer a selection of our games programming modules from 3rd and 4th year. All I can say is that these are brilliant fun, full on courses that cover XNA development, ludology and game design, modding, DirectX programming, 3D maths graphics, physics and Ai for games. All the modules involve lots of practical games developement and students make an eportfolio of their work to demonstrate their skills to potential employers. If you are currently unemployed or know someone who is, you can find more information here:

      http://www.dit.ie/upskill/

We are currently working out the details and I’ll post more information when its available.

      Damn, I wouldn’t mind doing that course…but I’m (thankfully) in a job.

Any further information on this? What languages are used? There’s also no mention of maths/physics – can you shed any light on this? Thanks.
