Well just a quick update after a day of super conferences etc.

Lance Weiler was showing some super transmedia projects this morning as part of Darklight in Temple Bar. Check out:

In the games panel at the dublin web summit we got to hear a lot of enthusiasm about the potential for the games industry in ireland if the right policy measures, talent and funding come together, but especially about the potential of new channels with lower barriers to entry.

Also Barry O’Neill talked about his new company ‘other ventures’ which is looking at investment for games and media start ups (!)

See http://www.casualgaming.biz/news/29996/Barry-ONeill-leaves-Namco-to-set-up-VC-fund – definitely something we should hear more about.

Dylan Collins spoke about his continuing involvement in Jolt online post the Gamestop deal and his less virtual new venture Gruppy.com – see http://www.gruupy.com/

and Steve Collins of course has a new venture…

and PopCap are hoping to double in size in Dublin ..

we hope to follow up on these stories as things develop,.,,

I don’t live in Ireland, I was just wondering where this conference was advertised (=blogs, newspapers etc..) so that I can subscribe\bookmark them. Cheers.

[edit – I see they have a FB page, but I this missed conference seemed specifically aimed at game devs :|)
