At present, all of our work is 2D so we don’t use Unity. In terms of software skills, the basic requirements are an ability to use Inkscape and Excel. An appreciation of the implications tech and art restrictions would have on design would be helpful.
The most important thing we are looking for is the desire to figure out what makes a good level and the ability to apply that learning to new levels in fun and interesting ways.
