the tradition with shindigs was Thurs or Fridays – since Fridays also allows people to travel.

By Saturday you find folks who work in Dublin and want to get down the country are gone…

Having it alternate is a good idea, not everyone is available at the weekends just as not everyone is available weekdays. I’m from Dublin and weekdays just dont suit with my other commitments. I know that others from outside Dublin are working too and cant afford to come up on a Thurdays either due to work on Firday.

Basically I see alternating it as the fairest wayt of allowing the most people to attend a meeting if they wish to. No one solution ( Either weekday OR weekend ) is going to suit everyone, this way it should suit most and people can get a meet up in once every 2 months.
