Hey, myself and 4 others are entering Dare to be Digital 2012. We are at university studying Games Design in Norwich UK, I’m from Sligo originally. We have a very polished submission but we need a programmer to complete our team, we can discuss the details of the game privately if anyone is interested?

Your best of specifying what tech or language you have in mind. You’ll draw more developers that way.
Also, just a personal note from working in small teams, 1 programmer might be a bit small. It depends

Hey thanks for the advice, we have had UDK in mind thus far, but we are open to any suggestion a programmer would prefer. The game would be designed for current generation mobile platforms. Regarding the number of programmers we are confident that one will be perfect for our particular concept, also last year’s winning entry by Team Swallowtail had a single programmer. Due to the competitive nature I can’t reveal much on our submission, but if anyone’s interested please get in touch and we can discuss our Dare application further.

Cool. Ok so now we’ve a better idea of what kind of team your looking for. I only know one UDK programmer and he says its rough so i hope its content heavy rather than function heavy. I think perhaps having someone else know scripting would take the sting out.
One thing to note (as far as i know) Udk only supports IOS. Not android or any other mobile platform. Best of luck and i hope you get accepted.

We’re open to any suggestions a programmer has, and using UDK is definitely not written in stone. Unity better supports mobile devices, and was used by winning teams last year.
The game concept is compelling but not complicated, so again, we’re confident that a good programmer can handle it.
We’re negotiating with a couple of programmers now, but if anyone is interested then get in touch. cheers!

[/quote:aaedf31218]Concept wont influence your programmers difficulty as much as platform, engine and language.
I really think you should investigate this more.
