Hi Smiley.
Firstly: The course landscape is changing fast, so any advice you get here may be irrelevant a year from now.
Secondly: Just because you are not doing art does not mean you cannot get a portfolio together. You could get yourself to some life drawing classes over the summer or just draw, draw, draw and save all the stuff you dont hate.
In fact, you could go one better, download Blender (a free 3D modeling tool) and get some tutorials or a book. You could even get some simple Game Dev software like Unity or GameMaker and build a small game.
In terms of looking at courses, I would say Ballyfermot or Pulse are the closest to what you are looking for. Stick you neck out and see if you can sit in on a week of classes next year. Get a feel for them. If you can’t do that see if you can get in contact with next years batch of students and see what their work is like.
