I am a 27 year old mature student studying Multimedia computing with design in LIT. We have a 6 month work placement next tear in college and I was wondering does anyone know any good companies to apply to. I am interested in game design and have a good Java knowledge. Cheers for any tips or suggestions….

You’ll be hard pushed to find a placement in ireland were you an do games stuff. my advice would be get the c.v. in order and apply to rare or the likes. they take students on placement for 6months.
Failing that try to get any placement where you get to program alot, not a database job because you wouldnt get exposer really to enough problems which relate to games experience. For example, try to get a role where you get to build ui components, programming some sort of maths functionality or some simple graphics code.
