Just in case you didn’t hear about it. Online and looks useful.

***************
AltDev Student Summit is now less than a week away. It’s online, it’s free, it’s a great opportunity for your students to learn from more than 30 game development professionals.
We have sessions covering the daily life of a variety of different roles within development, as well as sessions covering things that these developers wish that they had learnt during their studies.
Ian Schreiber and Jen MacLean are providing our keynotes, and we have a panel highlighting different routes some people have taken in order to break into the industry recently. Finally, we are running the AltDev Student Showcase, sponsored by Unity Technologies, which I have posted about previously. This is an opportunity to watch 6 student teams pitch their current projects and receive feedback from a panel of industry veterans in a Dragon’s Den (Shark Tank in the US) style.
We’ve aimed to provide as much information and inspirational content as possible, whilst also creating a relatively entertaining event. Full information on the event can be found at http://www.altdevblogaday.com/altdev-student-summit-2012/ .
We would really appreciate any help to tell your students about this and anyone else you think this will be relevant to. It would be great if you could also help us spread the word through social media.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has helped us bring the event to fruition. We’ve already had a huge amount of interest from students around the world and we know that a lot of that is down to many of you promoting the event for us – we are so grateful. That doesn’t stop us asking for one last push mind you ;)
Thanks,
Luke Dicken and Heather Decker-Davis
