      Hullo.

Buying a decent notebook for gaming and dev work has got a lot more complicated recently with nVidia nerfing their GT cards with nVidia Optimus. I would normally not have a problem with Dell, but they are out as they lock their BIOS’ so I can’t turn off nVidia Optimus from there. I am also aware of komplett.ie and pixmania.ie but they don’t quite have the laptop I’m looking for. I am looking for a 3D laptop. Anyone know of an online seller that have them and ship to Ireland?

Also, I’ve heard that glasses free ones aren’t up to much, and you’re better off going with a glasses required one. Anyone know/ has looked into stereoscopic laptops?

If your a linux fan (I am………a lot) then http://www.system76.com is amazing.

If your just looking for parts, then try elara.ie (my fav for parts since komplett went poop) and dabs.ie or maxburns. Im less fond of the latter 2

I’ve had good experiences with PC Specialist, they’re based out of UK but ship to Ireland. got a decent spec laptop from them and the gf got one a few weeks after.

Both arrived working great, with very quick turnaround times. equivalent spec cost almost twice as much from Dell, and pcspecialist are highly customisable. I did quite alot of research before purchasing, and they seem to be the best for the money.

They do 3D laptops, definitely a 17 incher, not sure if there’s a 15 inch one too.

Do Dell lock BIOS? is that something new, because my 2.5 year old Dell ‘s BIOS is configurable.

They seem cool, how do I configure a 3D laptop though?Or do they have prebuilt ones…

      Preferably I’d want a 15incher though…
