Does the site have a comment system for the News on the main page. Prehaps I’m missing it…

Nope. We did discuss it at the design phase, and in time we hope to generate threads in the forums for each article, linking them to the articles etc, though its a good bit of work to get done and there are more pressing issues to be fixed so might be a while yet.
