I think what jediboy means is how they set up the image to zoom so well. The animation is extremely fluid…. so fluid in fact that it plays tricks on my eyes… When I focus on the exterior and keep zooming for a while and then stop the centre seems to distort….might be my poor eye sight though

Your exactly right, “lk_” I was looking for a little bit better of an explanation that just the application that the Cool Zoom was created in.
The tweening/animation is INCREDIBLY smooth, its reminiscent of Mandelbrot graphics…

I’d reckon they’re just png’s in sequence in flash. I wouldn’t think that flash has any more of a role here than as a player.
On my machine it seems to pause briefly 2 or so times on each (what I imagine would be a ) complete image. I can see how this could be done manually with a few staged zooms and then picking the point where you feel the next image should be visible. They might also be vectors to make it easier still.
All this could probably be learned with a little googling, but it is saturday…..

I’d agree. Though someone could reverse engineer it if they were so inclined…flash is notoriously easy to reverse engineer….
