“As well as being the first PC exclusive title to reach the number one spot this year – in fact, the last one was Championship Manager 4, way back in early 2003 – Doom 3’s sales mean that it’s the fifth fastest selling PC game of all time in the UK, based on launch week figures.”

You would have thought that being near the end of the current console life-cycle that the PC platform (arguably technically superior than the current generation of consoles – at least at this point) would dominate the charts… I guess that’s the influence of the mainstream

I don’t see why Doom shouldn’t be at the top spot, personally I think it’s the best game this summer and possibly this year so far!

But this costs a lot more than a console, cos you’ve got to get a PC with a high end graphics card.

Obviously buying the X-Box version is a more walet friendly choice But If Doom is to be experienced in all it’s might, then a win on the lottery is needed by many a pundit. Still I went ahead and bought the PC version, running on low, couldn’t wait. ah well, patience is a virtue.

I was in GAME the other day and noticed that they had revamped the store and so everything was in a new place. I quickly realised that there was only two shelves dedicated to PC games, all the others being given to the big three consoles. I decided to count the number of shelves and it came to a total of twenty-five! Eight percent of store space going to the PC?? Quite a surprise for me.

They always do that Ronny, you should see some of the game shops down here in Cork, the Gamecube only has about 5% of shelf space in most shops, with the PS2 having around 60% and the rest delegated to PC and X-Box, what game where you in?, was it in Belfast of Dublin?. Anyway I reckon the reason is that PC market is slighly dwindling.

I was in the Belfast store. Before the shake-up PC games had around five or six shelves. I’ve always been used to them getting a fair share. Thinking back to my early teens I remember PC games taking up half of the shop.
It’s certainly going to be interesting to see if the PC decline continues.

have you ever been into GAME looking for Mac compatible games LOL
the comments are worth the trip… “i didn’t think they still made games for the mac ” etc
my purchases are strictly internet based now, as i own neither console or PC.. and playing the odd game or two is a necessary research in my line
