Hello all,
Long time lurker here so i’ve been saving up this first post :D I know a few of you guys here on the forums, namely Mal and Tony, also met a few more of you at the Dare to be Digital events.
Anyways, Belfast Institute are now looking for a new member staff in the Game Development field 8) . The job is full time and permanent based in Belfast (obviously  ) We are looking to expand our expertise in the mentioned areas: see job description:
I think its a great place to work for (but i’m a bit biased ;) ), the job is challenging but very rewarding.
Thought this would be the ideal place to alert to any interested folk. Believe the job will also be advertised in the Belfast Telegraph today.

hi Dazza,
you might want to let people know a little more about the course.
also people from the south might not know what an ‘institute’ is..
best
Aphra.

Sure Aphra, no problem.
The job is for Belfast Institute of Further and Higher Education. We are the largest provider of further and higher education and training in Northern Ireland with over 40,000 students, we are also one of the biggest FE/HE Colleges in the UK. We have around 3000 full time in courses such as A-Level, BTEC Nationals, HND’s, HNC’s and Foundation Degrees.
http://www.belfastinstitute.ac.uk/about_us/
We have been running a customised Edexcel BTEC National Diploma Interactive Game Development that last two years with the first group of students just completing in May 07. Further information on the course can be found here:
http://www.belfastmet.ac.uk/courses/coursedetails.asp?course_id=675More detailed breakdown can be found here:
http://www.belfastmet.ac.uk/courses/comp_docs/NDGames2006.pdf
This course is the equivalent of 3 A-Levels (Leaving Certificate) and gives the students a good grounding into many areas of multimedia/software/game development. We are also currently in the process of developing a higher level games course, and would like a person with the right skills (see job description :) ) to join the team.
Hope this helps,
Darin
