Was watching Phil Harrisons keynote at GDC today and with all his talk about "Game 3.0" I’d like to know what do game developers think of it.
Like what’s your view of it’s definition, what it should encompass …. etc. Only being a student myself I think it should be all about lasers, girls and giant robots!!
1.0: Games on disks
2.0: Network games on disks
3.0: Network games over the network, downloadable content etc.
In theory, continuous streams of revenue for a product for a company are far better than the 3 year dev + flop = bust scenario. Nothing new though (For us pc gamers!), valve have been doing it for a good while.

Was the whole Game 3.0 concept not more aimed at allowing the player to define their own experience through user generated content and interaction. Sort of like the whole blog culture that has taken over the internet…. or did I dose off?
