Well for what it’s worth. The PopCap International mobile studio have output Bookworm and Chuzzle for mobile this year along with a plethora of localised products for PC.
Lots of stuff lined up for next year too :) -

great. keep them coming.
I suspect we hardly realise the amount of things which have been developed.
Have you links for Bookworm and Chuzzle?
Aphra.

By developed do you mean actually released or still in development? If you are counting on games in development I have :
We are keeping rather tight lipped about this recently, but developments have been very good over the past several months.
I also have 2 other smaller titles in development, which are aimed for the consoles.

Hey Aphra, it would be an interesting list if it were categorized into:
[list:308d87ef5c]Commercial games – released 2007
Commercial games – in development 2007
Non-commercial/Sponsored – released 2007
Non-commercial/Sponsored – in development 2007[/list:u:308d87ef5c]I think it would help give an overview of Irish game development activity in 2007 and what to keep an eye out for in 2008.I also think you should update your thread starting post with the games mentioned by people so there is a complete list at the start of the thread.

Anyone heard from Starcave?
Their sites appear to have vanished and wondering if they or there partnerships are still up and running.
-
20/12/2007 at 12:43 pm #39695AnonymousInactive
I fear they have gone the way of kapooki

yes Kieth sent me a mail earlier in the week to say he has a new company with one other business partner.
As for Starcave – not sure if it is dormant or wound up. will have to clarify with him. He has said he is now free to talk about what happened.
Hope to have more info soon…so back on thread please here….more games please

what about games that were partly developed in Ireland, i.e. some features developed over here but not the full game?
Also, when I was at Nephin we also did Greek Games for Disney and ESPN Kickboxing. Paul/Ian – do you guys have any links to these?

Have been C.O.O. in Demonware since April.
We worked on 60+ games this year (mostly middleware integration & support), but we also wrote extensive bespoke multiplayer code for COD4, Guitar Hero 3, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars & Tony Hawk PG

if we add localisation and parts of games the list will grow and grow I suspect!
which is not a bad thing….Aphra.

Did anything ever actually happen with ESPN Tony?[/quote:7f43926593]Not sure if they published it yet, Peter – but AFAIK they changed the name to ESPN All Stars and – wait for it – removed the multiplayer!! Can you believe that?!! After all the sweatin’ poor Hannigan did over that GDD…

I’m not sure if games that use Irish middleware should be included in the list of games created in Ireland – obviously middleware is a very important part of the games industry, but if you included eg all of the games that use Havok technology, the list would be full of AAA titles, but wouldn’t really reflect the "Games developed in Ireland recently" title – unless someone could argue a case for this.
Of course, the middleware itself should be listed, but perhaps under a separate Game Middleware catagory.
Three for the list would of course be…
Havok
Demonware
Instinct StudiosAre there any other middleware or related companies in Ireland? ( AI, input devices etc – what about that biometric input device crowd? ).

we seem to have missed out on what BitRabbit are up to…
their website states that ‘In April of 2007 two of their games Yukiko and Atomanic were selected for the launch of a new mobile service in Korea, called WiBro, which is a WiMax service operated by KTF.’
Apart from giving out to Michael for not telling us we must find out more…
Aphra.
