      sorry, still trying to confirm venue on this.

      date will either be first week of april..i.e. before Easter or last week of April, in the evening and probably a Friday so trying for either the 7th or the 28th..the 14th might be good with people travelling but the venues might not be so keen.

      If people have suggestions for speakers on the night feel free to make them. I think having three speakers – two from companies and one indie/student worked well last year but I am open to suggestions and volunteers :)

      Late April is cutting it pretty close to the exam period for students. Perhaps the 7th would be better?

      The digital Hub in dublin have kindly agreed to host us for our birthday event in April this year. I just want to run the potential dates, Friday the 7th and Friday the 28th, by our speakers to see what which suits them best and then we can make it all official.

      also the event will be in the auditorium in the Digital Exchange, former Media Lab Europe building, which is rather posher than the last time! It is just around the corner from where the event was last year.

      I think the 7th might be pushing it a bit myself to get everything organised on time..

      let see what the speakers think.

      Yeah I’ve used that one before, but its funny, and I don’t care if nobody gets the reference…

      Anyway, to be serious, I know a photography student who owes me a favour (and some money), will I bring her along to take photos? She’s no expert, but she could do the post-processing so no redeye or ugliness (well…photoshop can only do so much). Assuming she’s free and not subject to encroaching deadlines etc, of course.

      well there are a few people lined up and they are just checking the dates to see if they are available but there may be a mobile focus!

      we can always do with photos of events…so if there are favours outstanding yes please :)

      sorry guys, a long morning staff meeting!

      our options for our chosen venue are the 7th and the 28th of April and I prefer the 28th so we can get things organised. I am currently checking with our speakers to make sure they can make that date before I officially announce and awaiting repsonse from one of them – and fitch, yea I am sure it will only be getting started.

      more as things get organised…and suggestions for talks or games for the night are always welcome!

      What platform for games? Can we do a BF2 LAN :lol:

      Talks – might it be an idea to get a hold of someone in EI re. institutional financing for tech comps? (‘bit late I know, but…). Or just recycle ‘Next-Gen’ talks (of about 7-8 months ago) and fine-tune in light of (a) ‘360 hard data since release and (b) finally-emerging ‘real’ info about PS3?

      I can volunteer a short and mild IP natter about US v Europe approach to IP and the slowly-but-surely widening gap about relevance of IP in each of these ‘regional’ markets (only where games are concerned, of course).
