things are a bit earlier with GDC this year – in February – and it is back in San Francisco.
Note the deadline for IGDA studentships to attend is this Friday – see http://www.igda.org/scholarships/
There is a call out for posters for the games and education SIG – see http://gdconf.com/conference/edusig.htm
For more details on the overall conference see http://www.gdconf.com/

Prototype will be present in a big way at GDC ’08, with at least two talks; one from our Visual Development supervisor on the visual design of the game, and another from our lead designer & producer on the game design & development. Should be good!

just a reminder – deadline for IGDA studentships to GDC is today…
Nifty won one two years ago so we have a good record to keep!

I won a scholarship to GDCE, but I wasn’t the first Irish person to win an IGDA scholarship, and there’s been at least one other Irish winner since.
Each scholar does a write up of their experience that the IGDA host online, you can take a look at what you can gain. And then you can throw their names into Moby and see how they’re all getting on.
The application is painless and not intimidating in any way. You have absolutely nothing to lose by going for it.

Will gamedevelopers.ie want a roving reporter again? :)
Of course none could surpass the quality of the writeup done by Ian "Will Wright FANBOY" Hannigan, but it could be an idea.

If GD.ie doesn’t mind a write up about hookers and coke parties, you could send me in Hannigan’s stead…

GDC 08 sounds like a good idea, but it probably really is just a bunch of coke and hooker parties :P

If I could get the time off I’d definitely be there this year!!! :)
If only, to wait outside WW’s dressing room with a Spore sample of my own to impress him! :)
