So I was thinking about snow and snowboarding, and how I do a lot of things the other way around. In snowboarding, I would be called a “goofy” for that reason (right foot first).
As I was playing today with the first years, it became apparent that I am the only one using reverted mouse settings… I guess it comes from me playing flight simulators when I was still a n00b, and now it just would feel weird to play any other way.So what about you? Goofy or regular?
p.s. this is really only relevant for FPS. And other games where there is a first/third person view.

Decent mouse for lefties? The Razer mice are for both handed people and are, in my opinion anyway, the best gaming mouse to be had…
Oh and for FPS’ I’m a regular user HOWEVER for all flight sim related games I turn to goofy, strange but true… :?

Yeah seen it, thanks mate, but i wouldn’t mind an ergo and not one like a big lump of clay I had to use at intel, I had to get the biggest one they had. :D

Invert mouse is for old school FPS players, when ID first started releasing FPS game the mouse was defaulted to Inverted.
So many of the hardcore players and especially the old timers use inverted mouse. Not that it matters a crap…

Same here (Regular FPS’er / Goofy Sim’er) – nothing goofy about it. Real plane controls are ‘goofy’, handling of real guns is ‘regular’… strangely enough :roll:

To be honest I dont know which I use. I can only tell if its the ‘correct way’ or the ‘evil way’ once I am ingame.
Halo’s detection method is very clever…doing it on the fly so you never even notice.

Well, my little sister is a lefty, so I’ve been trying to buy her a nice mouse, but the whole “inverting buttons” thing is just annoying. For the moment, she is learning to use the mouse with her right hand. I think it’s probably the best solution.
Oh for those who mention flight sims, yes, the default is normally to invert the mouse (which is why I say “flight sim style”).
I have, however, seen some space sims that used the “mouse up = look up” method. And I hold them as abominations unto my eyes… :evil:kyotokid : then you are a regular, no FPS is set to inverted mouse anymore nowadays.
omen : now that, sir, is the weirdest I’ve heard…. the whole point of the inverted mouse setting is that it reflects what you would be doing if holding a stick, precisely. i.e. when you wanna go up in a plane, you pull toward you (move the mouse down) :roll:

An inverted mouse reflects head movement, you move you head back to look up and you move it forward to look down.
Its still evil though!
