Hello all,
Just updated the tickets for the second event, taking place the weekend after next. It should be pretty much the same as last time, pick a theme on the day – although I’m still looking for someone to talk for 10 minutes at the start about some work they’ve done in the past.
Volunteers for various topics (programming language, art tool, audio etc) are welcome to suggest their help for people on the day too!
Tickets here: indiegamesspace.eventbrite.com

Ah, looks like we have our speakers ready. Digital Sideburns will give a small talk before the jamming :)

I didn’t put my name down this time as I won’t be able to stick around most of the day, so I wouldn’t want to take up a seat someone else could use. But I might be able to drop in before lunch and perhaps catch the talk.

Please do, the guys are coming up from Limerick to make a special effort for the Irish indie games scene, so the more for the talk the better. There’s plenty of tickets available too still and lots of standing room (and seats/sofa outside the room) so I doubt we’ll run out of space.

Not sure yet if I can make this one. I initially thought it was on last weekend, which would have been perfect as I work every second weekend.
Trying to swap shifts at the moment so its still up in the air. Wouldn’t like to miss the talk from the lads.

Anyone can attend – I’d just do your best to genuinely contribute – maybe soak up how people seem to work. There’s a general focus on being constructive and getting stuff done – but that doesn’t mean you have to be a genius programmer, an experienced artist or a seasoned screenplay writer.
Come along anyway (tickets are sold out now, but maybe you can find a seat – or at least stand for the talk) and take the chance to chat to people, see what you might pickup!

Noticed this just a tad too late, but if anyone’s registered for a ticket and can no longer go please let me know and I’ll go instead.

Another good jam! :) Thanks again John for setting it all up.
"Disease" and "Pandemic" last time.
"Rampage" and "Drinking" this time.
If we get "Easter" and "Rising" at the next jam it’ll almost be like a chronicle of Irish history :P
The presentation from Digital Sideburns (David and Baz) was honest and informative, they gave straight facts and figures. I hope they’re able to continue to expand Wordsnap Contraption (that extra ‘0’ on the score seems the most important new feature right now ) and their other ventures are successful too.

Gutted I couldn’t attend. Seem’s like I missed out.
Hopefully I’ll make the next one.
P.S (Big Congrats to John on receiving his funding!)

Good to meet everyone again yesterday; cheers for organising!
Here’s what I had working after about 4 hours of frantic programming:
http://gambrinous.com/shindig/gamespace2.htmlConcept was a top-down arcadey game where you steal as many drinks as possible. The more you drink the more messed up the controls get.
You’re the one in the leather jacket; don’t hit the bouncer or it’s game over. Refresh the page to restart :)
I generated the character animations using this:

Nice game. It gives me a headache after playing it a bit, I guess you were trying to make the gamer experience some of the symptoms!
Nice work!

Nice work Gambrinous, as always, nice to see some work from the day!
Thanks to Alan and David who gave an interesting and frank talk about releasing their game on the app store and thanks to FilmBase for hosting us again!
Please, if you enjoyed the day, let your friends know about the next one planned for the 30th of April. :)
