      Hi All,

      Just letting ye know about the IrishGameDev Christmas party on Dec 18th.

      We have exclusive use of the upstairs bar of The Workmans until 11pm – let’s fill it with friends and fun

      …before = work and anticipation
      …during = beers, chats, maybe a few low-key games of Skull, etc
      …after = dance party at DiFontaine’s Pizza

      Probably a silly question, but I’ll ask anyway.

      Is this the same thing as the GD.ie shindigs or a separate meetup? If not, is there a separate date for the usual shindig (not likely to be back in Ireland before the 21st).

      I don’t know, maybe. It’s all the same folks, didn’t the meetup use to be at the Lombard or something? Owen and Charlene are the ones organising it AFAIK. Well, Char created the FB event.       Hi Vicky,

      There’s usually a Dec Shindig meetup between St. Stephen’s Day and New Years, as at least in previous years (Aphra or anyone else correct me if I’m wrong) people working abroad (myself included) would not fly in to Ireland in most cases before Dec 23rd.

      But I’ve been out of the loop for a while, so maybe all that’s changed.

      Well because this event was announced on FB there was not much point in having a separate gd.ie shindig – so we are just going along to the Workmans. Vicky cross posted the event here so we are promoting it also. It is open to all.

      Actually we usually don’t have a formal gd.ie one in Dec – since it is hard to coordinate with all the other events going on…

      but if people throw out dates of when they are home, we are happy to try and coordinate something..
