Holy crap, thats a good review score from IGN, 9.9/10.
http://xbox.ign.com/articles/602/602787p1.htmlI must admit, I’ve been dying for this game for a long time, and the wait is nearly over at last. I was never in any doubt that the folks at Bioware would pull off an amazing game, but it seems it has not only lived up to the high expectation, but surpassed it. Excellent stuff! :D
Looking at Gamerankings, it has done universally well with games sites and magazines. However, look at Gamespot……84%?
Bah, never did like the Gamespot reviews, they seem to just be harsh for the sake of it…. -

Edge…..bah, they’re as bad as Gamespot with their reviews. You’re better off getting the average. Which in this case is great, even with Gamespots pants review in there…..

I agree with DarkSaviour.
Edge are miserly with their scores, but for a reason. In my book, they almost always get it right, and are not distracted by the latest bells and whistles, which makes sensational reviews like HL2’s all the more dramatic.
Doom 3 got 7 out of 10, didn’t it? Sounds about right to me.
To my mind, ‘average’ score accumulation is like saying the pop charts are a good reflection of what music is worth buying. Give me a thoughtful mag’s critique (e.g. Wired) over the ‘general public’s’ collective tastes any day.
But then again, I have the entire Yes and Steely Dan back catalogue, so what the HOFF do I know about music?
Come to think of it, I also have MS Train Simulator, so what the HOFF do I know about games?

I always find them miserly, for the sake of being miserly. Almost like they believe in their own hype, but again, just my opinion.
I think they are a bit up themselves…… :p -

That is true. There is an aura of aloofness.

Just finished Jade Empire for the 1st time last night. Well this morning, at half 3! ;)
I just had to keep playing to see how the story panned out. The writers in Bioware are some seriously talented people, the story is awesome. Have already started a new game where I will progress via the Way of the Closed Fist.Looking forward to being a baddass Monk Zeng….. :D

Is it worth buying a limited edition copy for the extra character plus extras ??

If you know someone who has a limited edition copy then don’t buy it. Just grab their extra disc and copy the Monk Zeng content to your own xbox harddrive.
If you don’t know anyone who has it, then I would say its worth it. Was only 5 euro extra…..
