A casual perusal of this thread and of the jobs section on this website will show that there are currently jobs and opportunities going in:
– [Dev] PopCap, Jolt, Playfirst, 2PaperDolls, Havok (all Dub)
– [support] EA Bioware, Zenimax (both Galway)
– contract jobs – Mark Dunne postThese would appear to range from engineers and game designers to support and range across all levels, although there is a slight preference for some experience – in some from 5-7 years. Computer science and engineering qualifications are most prominent.
It is great to see all these positions opening up as we come to the end of the university year with new graduates emerging, postgraduates finishing up and people in other industries loosing jobs.
Please circulate the links and info to your networks of friends who may not be on gd.ie
For those entering college look at the required skills…and try to make sure you are picking those up somewhere..if not as part of course work in other projects outside

I think this is a great idea. I’m based in Cork and am currently looking to move into the games industry. It would be great to see at a glance where jobs & companies are based.
