Appart from being a really good issue (Making of Tempest 2000, Interview with Nintendo) has a bunch of ragdolls on the inside back cover.
So, I think they be talking to the Havok lads about Havok3.
What ya think?
Whilst were on this topic – Meqon.
The little demo is cool – Cloth/rope/ragdoll/rigidbodies and destroyable transparent boxes, all rolled into one physics tastic experience.mmm Cloth.

Yep – the EDGE is running a piece on game physics next month. Jon Jordan is the writer – he’s talking with all the physics engine providers as far as I know.
The back cover was cool and was done by none other than the Hegarty Bros.

Latest Edge available. Highlight is the picture of the contents of the Demonware stretch humvee in the GDC coverage article near the front. Classic.

Dunno how flash it is… i’ve heard cases of stretched hummers being rented to take kids to their first communion! (I’m not even joking!)

it’s in the May edition [/quote:9c7059eef7] actually, the ad won’t appear in Edge until the June & July editions now due to an admin hiccup in the Edge offices… but it’s pretty much the same ad as the one in Develop

“Develop is distributed to 8,000 qualifying industry professionals including programmers, artists, musicians and producers and associated professionals such as specialist lawyers, analysts and PR companies every month on a request only basis. The magazine is also becoming the publication of choice for academic institutions and under-graduates considering a career in games development.”

Yes, I was very impressed by that monster machine. The article on the current state of game physics was excellent too, although a little depressing. Reminded me of all those unanswered applications I made to Havok after I graduated. sob

Under 12 mpg for the ‘civilian’ version, I believe. Thinking how much a “stretch” version would eat makes me shudder … and then anyone wonders why the US didn’t ratify the Tokyo agreement

just looked at Tonys pics…looked like very hard work.!
I think the ole Demonware humvee should have had a gd.ie logo on the outside tho’ – the entire Irish industry must have been on it…

I see edge also has a nice article on the main contenders of the handheld console market fighting for your hard earned cash.
Although I think its pretty evident that without a household name like sony and nintendo, its gonna be hard for gizmondo, n-gage and the palm console (cant remember its name) to compete.
