The Trinity Interactive Entertainment Technology (IET) masters course has a significant group project as part of the course work. Read, each group to make a game of technical merit.
This is a class of very proficient game programmers but having artists / animators on board would be great. Up to us to find them and are not limited to student artists.
Exactly what will be developed is under discussion within the teams at the minute but wanted to put the feelers out.
Any artists interested in principle to getting involved? 2D or 3D skills, whatever we would like to hear from you.
No pay, no access to Trinity facilities but big selling point is that these projects WILL be shown to industry vets/execs and would be a fantastic way to get your work recognised.
Plus these projects will get completed and more than likely most teams will be using xna for development so the world can view your work on the xbox creators club. Might even make money from them.
Projects will be significant , at least 8 weeks work.
Hope to get a few PM’s as I know there is suitable talent on these boards.

there should be talent here…but Ballyfermot and IADT would be the likely places to contact if you want to pursue more.

I’m very interested.
I did some concept-art before, and some low-poly modelling. I could start right now.
Who to contact? Is there an e-mail adress available? -

Great. The course is going to be on a week break from Friday, were teams will be finalising the concepts of the games to be made. After which the process begins.
I will make sure the guys check in here regularly during that week and PM interested parties such as yourself with details of concepts and to gain input.
Thanks Again.
Keep em coming.

Do you know more or less which date all this has to take place? And where?

When: I think some concept art showing that programmers and artist are on the same page could be required as early as two weeks away with production level graphics immediately following. I will confirm the dates with the course director and post a full timeline.
Where: We only have a technical lab available to the programmers which is not suited/tooled for artists to be on site. Meaning you would have to work from home. Perhaps groups may want to organise coffee discussion/meetings with artists in Dublin, but other than that all work will be remote.

Got some good news. Each team now has a small budget and project will require a shorter time commitment than previously thought. Now 4 weeks in length.
We also have a theme, games will revolve around nanotechnology. There are three teams all looking for artists so we could do with some more posts, hopefully prospect of getting paid something will entice more.
How much of our budgets we can give to one artist naturally depends of how much of the required art that artist can deliver.
Thanks darkcult and YoungodD for your posts. We will be touch on Monday and explain our game concept as a group and talk in detail about what we are looking for.
Thanks again.

Hi there my name is Tyrone, i have been reading ur post with great interest. i am not sure if you are still seeking artists to help out, but if so i would be only delighted to help out in anyway i can. I am currently studying in the National College of Art and Design, and am hoping to specialise in Graphic Design but my skills are broad. I have previously spent 3yrs studying classical Animation in Ballyfermot so have some knowledge in that area. My main strengths would be in painting, drawing and making 3d clay models. If in anyway i can help then just drop us a mail.. would only be happy to help if i can. i will watch this space :D cheers
Ty
