I checked out the site also, and couldn’t find out how to download it – what’s the direct link Ronan?
It would be great to support the project by downloading and playing it – maybe even getting a time to have gd.ie members to log in to socialise ( / shoot the fokker out of each other :) )

http://www.dogfighter-game.com/
found this.
Downloading now you need to make an account first. They totaly need to promote this stuff more. The betas been out since march and only 34 people have played, acording to the site.

Can’t get it to work. The startup thing does not appear to have been set up correctly. For all PC’s anyway, as it can’t find where its installed (i have it installed to the default location).

Nice one for spreading the word Darkwater :?
Its hard to find the link to that demo from their site (even using the site map I could not find it!)

The main site does not link to the dogfighter site at all and thats where the demo is. You would think they would promo this stuff.

In fairness they did contact us when it was released…they asked us to *take down* a link to their site :(

really? Why release a beta and then ask people not link to it.

Weird, tried to login but wouldn’t accept my normal email address. Don’t think I ever tried to register before. They must have known I would be too good and would rule the skies :)

Interesting…
A. There is no AI in the game so you will only ever be playing against other people, which is where the challenge is. So it could take a while for others to log on into the game and find your server, before joining you. [/quote:ade1ec3774]

I think its still in development and probably not meant for public consumption yet

Dont put a downloadable demo up?

I think these guys could do with a PR manager, even some of the new screenshots are taken from an angle where you can see really low detail on the textures.
As a development forum we can be more understanding but it would get ripped apart on a gaming forum.

As development is ongoing I don’t think any of the screens should be taken as final. (cue Kyotokid ) :D

Its bad for any game to put out screenshots that dont look good, even if its not final.

I guess they are not ready to launch yet and the demo link was put up prematurely.
I’m sure we’ll hear of the proper launch on GamesIndustry.biz and the like.
I am worried about the game being player vs player only though. Is there enough interest to always have people on the servers?
