Hey guys,
Any chance of doing an interview for gamesdevelopers.ie with some Irish devco’s – see what they are up to, their plans etc?
Bugaboo, Kapooki, Torc.
Personally I’d love to know some more details!

problem is that 2 of these (Kapooki & Torc) are working on projects that are as yet unannounced by their clients…
Bugaboo are also working on a title, but I don’t know if they’re funding this themselves or are signed up with anyone

They don’t have to reveal any specific info.
Regarding Bugaboo – you’ve just made the point yourself – we don’t know what they are up to ! :)

I’m working for Torc, and we spoke about plans. etc. at the Open Day on Friday.
On the content side, we’re currently working on a mini-game (6 month project) for a hardware vendor and preparing a publisher demo for Lyon in November. Thats’ about all we can say, at this point
Kapooki are working on a PS2 title for a UK publisher. That’s all I can say about that!
Bugaboo are working on a PS2 racing-type title.
Next?!

I didn’t think you where being flippant :) – I am just looking to absorb as much info as I can about the Irish scene, and I think it they would be a cool articles….
If they were written, then they could be mailed to some developer mags to raise Irish profiles – “Havok is no the only thing to come from Ireland’ type of jobby’s ;)

Hey guys,
Snowed under here with work and everything else. Tony, I sent Aphra an update for you to discuss when you meet on Friday.
Re: Interviews etc, I’d be more than happy to do an overall piece on the companies, if anyone involved in the co’s wants to PM me contact details, it would make things easier for me, because I can get interviews arranged, and then build the piece around it. Done nothing on the site for a while now, I’m working on a few things so I won’t have to worry about writing when I’m studying for my finals from September, so and ideas feel free to contact me.
As for getting them into one of the UK mags, Dylan is good for contacts, I’ll see what I can do : )
Would be nice to see my name in print again.
Jamie

just to let you know we are currently pursuing Frogwares for just such an article but it is proving difficult to tie them down. Was talking to another mobile operator about doing a story this week, not Eirplay, but they want to hold off for another two months until some big contracts come in. Think the Torc news story covers them very well and reveals as much as they are able to.
As Tony indicated and has been mentioned by others at the shindigs a lot of the current projects are demos and sub-contract work which the clients have not publicised and the companies are under NDAs so they can’t talk about it either.
but we are trying to get these type of stories…bear with us and the companies…
Aphra.,
