Just finished up with Dare and am now looking for a full-time gig in the UK, so I put this webpage together.

I assume you are going after animation positions?

I would be primarily but if a position came up for art asset creation I would take something like that also. :) Ideally I love to do both so work in a smaller studio on maybe a handheld or Wii title where I could do both would be great, but I am also looking for work in a slightly larger place where it would just one or the other.

Hi Andreas. I like the Hoe-down Showdown work and the crate of course. One thing that may help is to separate your portfolio and make 2 reels/galleries. One for asset creation and one for animation. It will make it easier for you to update both and also allow you to have either ready to apply for specific roles if they come up. It is good to have a variety of skills but better to only show what’s relevant for the position applied for.
On the asset creation side obviously it would not hurt to have some more in a mixture of styles showing how flexible you are to work on various types of content.
On a technical note it may just be my monitor but from what I see of the specular map it’s almost black. I can’t really see the need for it as it’s a matte surface this could be achieved by the correct shader. Specular maps are best reserved for when you want to make something shiny.

Looking good, you have heard my comments before about the animation so I wont say it again. Liking some of the sketches, those drawn backgrounds are quite nice too. For the zbrush, I would work a bit more on defining the cheekbone a bit more and squaring out the jaw, overall its quite good, liking the brow and eyebrows.
Good luck in the job hunt btw.

I agreee with vertexmover, most places will want to see one or the other.
They will either be hiring a 3D artist or an animator.

Yep Jade Raymond was named studio head at Ubi Toronto yesterday ( producer of assassins creed I/II).
Great move for Ubi IMO.

Haha did some posts get mixed in from a different thread? Not that I mind, I always welcome any discussion involving Jade Raymond.
