Fridays suit us lads who have to travel better, but to be fair I understand that Friday doesn’t suit everyone so if it’s gonna be Thursday this month, the earlier we decide the better so arrangements can be made

I thought the pub was good this time though!

Saturday might be cool, if we kicked off around the usual 7 mark

I’d opt for the Thursday night, as some have expressed an interest in trying this evening in the past (as an alternative to the Friday) and I’m not convinced we’ll get any kind of decent attendance on a Saturday night…

I’m OK with giving Thursday a try

Hi,
Thursday evening suits me better than a Friday or Saturday.
Certainly I think a Saturday would be problematic for a lot of people.

I dont mind what night but if it was on a thursday it would need to be later than 7 for me (maybe others) toget there.
Friday is good also.

Skyclad is going to check out if Mahaffey’s is ok for a Thurs night so bear with us on the venue…

I’ve booked Mahaffey’s for Thursday 27th, so come one and all and be merry. Am definately looking forward to meeting a few of the folks for whom Fridays dont suit.
A quick recap on directions…
“on the corner of Pearse st/westland row, about half a minutes walk from Pearse Street Dart station”. Currently has scaffolding up aorund it, but is nice and quiet inside.

Bit premature I guess seeing as this thread is about November, but December? Dunno how long or when I’m going to be home. Was wondering is there one going to be planned, as going with the usual dates will clash will xmas parties no doubt?
I might actually be able to make this one if it happened.D.

Usual here, I’ll probably be free so I’ll probably be there, whenever suits.

Hey all, have fun!! looks like if I join you at the next one I’ll be a pro rather then a wannabe game developer…

anyone want to do a brief summary of what happened earlier in the evening last night…since I didn’t arrive until about 10.45 in the end…
I can report that people went from Mahaffys to Doyles and there was a lively discussion as to the relationship between gamedevelopers.ie and the IGDA Ireland chapter..as it stands we are cooperating closely but distinct entities…there seemed to be some support for things to stay that way…

Sorry I couldn’t make it at all last night, good things still happening.
For those interested, the Ludo course classes are going to be held in Arts block Ballyfermot and not in Dame street from next week onwards. In arts block for a while, waiting for new building to be completed. -

A lot of the conversation earlier on in the evening involved the IGDA too. Having come directly from the first meeting, there were a lot of questions asked about goals, aims, who was to be involved etc.
We all agreed that the extended 4 DVD Two Towers was excellent, though there was some dispute about Matrix: Revolutions.
Other then that, there were a quite few new faces which is always good to see. There was one guy (I’ve lost the name, apologies) working on distributed systems and noting that the next gen consoles will probably require some sort of additional level of middleware to handle the (4-16) processors going into these machines. That moved on to some discussion of the requirements (in terms of people) that the next gen consoles will need to create AAA games.
There were quite a few tables of people, so I am sure there was a lot more then that going on over the course of the evening – Upstart/Konami popped up a few times aswell as the usual spreading of rumours about what Torc/Kapooki etc were up to.

4 – 16 processors?
I heard a rumour that the PS2 would be consists of 8 processors and each of these would have 8 slave processors working off it, leading to 72 processors….
