Hi folks,
We received the Oculus Rift VR headset late last week ( we were one of the early backers ).
If any game devs are in the Belfast area and want to pop in for a test, just give us a shout – it’s pretty cool, but def are issues with resolution etc which will be sorted out with future prototypes / final consumer version.

I’m so excited about trying one of these. It’s nice to see videos cropping up of people trying them out.
If anyone in the Dublin area gets theirs and would be willing to show them off I hope they’ll post it in here.
nudge nudge wink wink.

Hi Aphra,
I def need to get back down to Dublin for a shindig, it’s been too long since I had a perfect pint of Vitamin G :)
BCFE, The headtracker doesn’t come with any software, you download it all off the oculusvr.com site in the dev section. Doom 3 was meant to ship with it, but now it doesn’t support it yet ( some of the VR headset specs changed ).
Luckily you can download Team Fortress 2 for free, which does support it – all 12Gb of it!

There’s a talk and hand-on demo at 3DCamp – http://3dcamp.barcamp.ie/2013/04/talk-13-oculus-rift-overview/ ;-)
This talk is made possible by the generous support of Cando 3D in Belfast.[/quote:bcc60e3030]

A bad news update, the speaker for Oculus Rift had to withdraw and so the talk has been cancelled. :(
