Are you willing to put the time in to fix it yourself? :wink:I choose to have an email sent to my account to let me know. A pop-up also opens on the site when a new message arrives. Both let me know when one has arrived.

Can you let me know exactly what you are expecting it to do?Up until now, when you login, the site checks for any new messages since the last time you were active on the site. Note, there is difference between *unread* and *new* messages since your last visit. This is the standard behaviour for any forum running phpbb. I have now changed this on the front page to list the total number of *unread* pms in a person’s account.
There are 2 other ways you can be informed of new PMs, as Ronny has indicated. You can choose to have a popup window appear when you go to the forums section of the site, which allows you to go directly to your inbox. You can also have the site E-Mail you at the email address you registered with whenever you get a new pm. Both of these options are accessible in the profiles section of the site, by clicking on “My options” from the homepage, or clicking on your username in the top right of the page, followed by “forum settings” on the right hand menu.

Dave I keep telling you this.
The number of new PMs doesn’t update. All the notifications work, its jsut the simplest notification of number of new PMs on the front page of the site doesn’t update. -

Yes, and its never once told me that i’ve had a single unread / new pm.
I’ve only known through emails or just checking on pms in the hope that someone has sent me one. -

Admittedly, I haven’t received one in quiet a while, must have been something you changed in the last month or so.
You can use over 160 characters in an email, so thats always a better option :) -

Omen,
Your right. That feature never worked. It MAY work now, but its prob because THEY fixed it.
You are not going crazy. Honest. There are more people out there who have experienced the same problem.
Don’t let them tell you you’re crazy.
(unless of course, they are doctors(MD’s not PhD’s) and in which case you have to…
