I’m more interested in the region free aspect of the thing.
Saw an alleged Sony Customer Service reply email on an Irish forum, in which Sony stated that the grey import jihad was to ensure there would be no customer disappointment in respect of EU-incompatible movies and games. Note that it wasn’t clear whether this was in respect of retroplay (PS1, PS2 games) or PS3.
Nonetheless, if it relates to PS3 games, multiple HW launch delays + handing the crucial Xmas period to Microsoft and Nintendo on a plate + EU price premium + BlueRay not assured to become standard + LikSang + not-so-region free games (in addition to definitely region-encoded movies) +…+… all the other negative PR and = the bill is starting to seriously stack up the wrong way for Sony.
