      Apologies to those who have been trying to e-mail me stuff via my aphra@gamedevelopers.ie account. It is currently bouncing e-mails because it is full.

      you know I probabably get as much spam on that account as gd.ie does…Dave is there a common thread here?

      A couple of other forums (one game dev, one not) have been hit by very similar spambots. At least we’re not alone!

      If only we were important enough to be the only ones suffering from spam on the internet :) Our google pagerank is up to 6 though, so we are getting there!

      We were going to go with the image idea, though this in fact looks even easier to do.

      It depends really, with the image idea, it all comes down to installing a plugin, where I haven’t seen a plugin that does this (weird really, it makes a lot of sense).

      i don’t remember saying that, ;)

      i think a mod hit edit instead of quote ( i do it all the time at dcemu)

      my guess would be tony

      back on topic, its seems to be working so far, the last few days all the sites on the network were getting hit heavy with spam (10-20 a day), no trouble so far (since it was installed last night)

      Were you using image validation before? I’m using it on my forum and it seems to work pretty well
