Well from the report on Kotaku it seems Free Radical kept the tech so all LucasArts got out of it was the cutscenes which will be transferred to the new team and their title.
Pity though, bar the seemingly repetitive running animation on all of the characters it was looking pretty nifty from the video. That being said, I think after the likes of Force Unleashed it’ll be pretty hard to do an all encompassing Star Wars game and still have that level of depth when it comes to Jedi/Force fighting.

Looks nice.. Probably best if it goes back to Pandemic as they have a pedigree of open world games and this seems pretty openworld. Its a big departure from battle front 2 (or the previous one rebellion did). Pity FRD didnt get a chance to release it, looks wicked. On a side note picked up haze during weekend for $15 bucks, gotta say i’m kind of enjoying it. I think critics might have been a bit harsh on it (although it came out in a year swamped by fps), but not too shabby.
Would be sweet if this FRD version was some how finished by Pandemic (although would be harsh for the guys from FRD that were involved but not involved on the final shipped product). Kind of similar situation i guess to Rockstar Vienna (Manhunt 2) and Rockstar London finishing it off after Vienna got shut down.

Peter,
there’s no way on God’s Earth that Pandemic would be able to finish the FRD version of BFIII, for reasons that are technical, legal and practical.
As much as it pains me to say it, after 2.5 years of development, that leaked footage is as close as the game-playing public will ever get to ‘our’ version. ‘Thomas Dudenaughty’ has made a statement on IGN which basically sums up our position in the whole mess.
I wish Pandemic or Rebellion, or whoever, ever takes over the IP the very best of luck, but whatever ends up being released it will be a very different beast to what we had planned.
Glad you enjoyed HAZE!

Definately a pity, it looked really good.
Glad to hear Lewi you got sorted with a new position.

Ditto, glad you got sorted pretty quick. The articles mentioned that there is a skeleton crew still at FR, 40 or so folk, can you say if this means that we may yet one day get our hands on TimeSplitters 4?

I couldn’t rule it out, Pete, but I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Aren’t Pandemic supposed to be busy with an ‘official’ Dark Knight game along the lines of Assasins Creed?
Glad you enjoyed HAZE!

There’s an Irish guy called Graham there; lead animator or Senior Animator I think. Spent a few years in the states and with Disney. Nice guy. I’ve applied myself a few times there, nothing so far though.

Dark knight got canned a while back (game didnt come out on time and EA lost the license for it at the end of 2008). So Pandemic brisbane got cut loose by EA last week. EA did however hold onto Pandemic LA.
