Tomorrow night is the talk digital session on games. Myself, Peter Mee and Paul Hayes – is that THE Paul Hayes x-Havok? – are talking and the questions which I haven’t been sent but are up on the Digital Hub website! are all about the business of games and how to develop the industry in Ireland….
come along and ask some tricky questions..!!

then I guess it really would be a ‘talk digital’!!
mail Dermot Ryan in the hub and ask him – they should really stream them on the web..

Would there be enough interest to make it worth-while?

It seems web streaming is something the Hub are looking into maybe after Christmas…
anyway it was an enjoyable night. About 30 people maybe in the audience and it went on for over an hour..
Also Prime Time were there before the event and interviewed Peter Mee and Paul Hayes, on guess what, violence and games. If their pieces are used you may see them tomorrow evening (tues) on Prime Time. I missed being interviewed cause I was late…phew…

Succintly, would you happen to know what the gist of the answers was?
(I’d hazard that if they didn’t condemn, then it won’t be used )

no apparently their interviews will be used in the pre-recorded piece and they are looking for people to take part in a studio discussion too..
they have just contacted me to take part in the studio discussion but I don’t think they realise I really live in the sticks now…and having spent the whole weekend travelling ireland I am not about to jump in the car again tomorrow to head to Belfast..(mm n cancel my other plans..)
honestly..they could give people a bit of notice…

Where’s the discussion again? I’ll go (if they’ll have me) if in Dublin or around.

The discussion will be studio based so if you were in Dublin it would be at the RTE studios in Donnybrook. I suggested another name of someone in the UK who researches games and has written about games and violence but I am sure they would be interested in someone local also.
If you ring the main switch board in RTE and ask for a researcher on prime time – can’t remember the name of the person I talked to..you might be able to offer your services..
it would be good to get someone who would give an informed and non-alarmist point of view..mention PEGI etc. etc..
