just downloaded the tombraider legends demo and i gotta say it looks fantastic. Loading is short, environments look sweeet, and some great use of depth of field, blur etc.
Might have to pick it up when its out.

Might have a look. I haven’t played any in the series since Tomb Raider 2.

Ya i havent played since 3. I’m impressed though. All I have to say is that if the full game keeps up the quality of the demo, then Eidos\SCI and tomb raider franchise is back to form. The opening sequence of the demo is cool, the sense of height with the water falls and the haze is cool.

must have alot of compressed assets which decompressed during the running of the game. Might explain why the load times are short.

I may get the Xbox version to play over the Easter holidays.

Had a look at the demo on the 360 this morning. Looks shiny. Lots of cutscene interuptions though which i loathe in a game.
Lara’s got very butch…pushing rocks that must weigh in the region of several tons with ease, she doesn’t even need to break a sweat :D -

I saw a depressing poster in Gamestation’s shop window
Close up of Lara Croft’s face with the words ‘Hello Boys’. Thats it.
UGH…is that the best they could come up with? ‘Hello Boys’
How about ‘This one isn’t poo poo’ or ‘Sorry about the last one, I’m good again’
Those marketing guys really earnt their money that day….‘Hello boys’… mumble grumble grrrrr sigh

Beyond tweaked graphics, I doubt there’s much of a difference between Xbox and 360 versions. Microsoft seem hell-bent on clawing back as much money as possible before Sony and Nintendo enter the next-gen market. Only when they do will we see a price reduction. -

its just insane though the way they think they can hike the prices up. like i recall MS saying that games will cost more because its more “difficult” to make games on the 360 yet GUN is a straight port from xbox and its cost 30euro more!!!!

I had a quick look yesterday morning, not as next-gen looking as I was expecting, but then again there was a greyed out switch on the config for “Next Gen Content On”
Figures.
But it does look good and the bit I played was very reminiscent of the first one, which for me might make it worth picking up

Well thats sort of cool, they could have left it with nought (ala Gun). I wonder what the timeframe is to upgrade it…
Pete, was the the 360 or PC version?

I got it earlier today for the Xbox. The gameplay is very good so far and the control system is much improved over past versions. Even riding the bike is enjoyable and without hassle.
Now how the hell do you get past this puzzle…??

No it seems the PC demo was released without the next gen content to keep the download smaller, they say they’ll release a full bells-and-whistles version this month
-

Ah that makes sense so, I’ll try and give that a download when its released then…
