Has the 21st been finalised? And is there a standing venue?
-
13/12/2007 at 4:36 am #39646AnonymousInactive
A sitting venue with the option to stand might be better.
sorry

do people know Solas, used to be the modern green bar, just up from the Cornerstone pub on Wexford street. Same side of the street.
Not likely to have guys on guitars playing and if we get their early enough just inside the door is a good spot for a gang. Good range of beers….naff Christmas decorations, and they do food until 9.30 for those who go straight from work.
What do you think?

Isn’t Solas usually absolutely jammers Friday and Saturday night? :?
-
18/12/2007 at 5:48 pm #39678Aphra KKeymaster
probably, but I guess most places will be the Friday before Christmas….other suggestions?
Aphra.

18/12/2007 at 6:24 pm #39679AnonymousInactive
I actually quite liked the cornerstone…have been back since too :)
-
18/12/2007 at 8:30 pm #39680AnonymousInactive
Yeah .. Solas tends to be jammers around those times.
But to be honest most places will be at that time. I know I for one finish work for christmas on Friday as most others probably do.
Have to say the food is great and very reasonable in Solas.
Besides backstreet, unknown pubs I dont think there are any spacious options around then.

Solas works for me too, although I was surprised at how empty Kennedy’s (http://www.kennedys.ie/) was a couple of Fridays ago. Easily able to get a seat at 9. But that could be moot this Friday. Also, I’m not known for arranging the most salubrious destinations.

I’ll be over late, we’re breaking up for work on Friday and its also my last day there so there’ll be an extra few pints after work
-

I won’t be there until after 10 either so lets see who is going to be there early so us late people can text you to find you.
I think we should try solas – but we know it will be packed – so make sure you have a mobile number for someoone.

Aphra.
-
21/12/2007 at 12:20 pm #39719Aphra KKeymaster
ok..how about we head to Solas and if it really is completely jammers the fall back is the Cornerstone.
Who thinks they will be there sometime between 7 and 8pm…I know myself and Pete will be along later….like after 10. Peter_B, Greenbean, Dave ???
If no-one replies I guess you have all taken half days and liquid lunches…which means very few will even make it til 7.30!!
We do have to celebrate Pete’s new job – !
